Where's your shack?

Jesus says that our intimacy with God is in the secret of a room. When we close the door, our God is with us in the secret place.
The world we live in is a place of pain and rush. Such a hectic environment tends to lead us away from the quietness and peace God wants for our souls. It is important that you are not "taken away from the world", but freed from the evil in special moments when the One who loves you most wants to share His Spirit with you.
It may be a coffee-break, it may be a whole hour you can go for a walk or an entire day in the weekend. However it appears to you, there is a need for you to pause, enter the shack and be in touch with the Father.
May Himself help you find your way towards the shack. Just as the tabernacle in the Old Testament, the shack moves as God has you move. He wants to be with you all the time. And He is.
In case you happen not to have read "The Shack" the whole idea may not be that clear. So why don't you buy or borrow the book and read in your quiet time? I am sure God will bless you as much as He's blessed me and you'll find out that prosperity has nothing to do with owning things.
Enjoy the reading!

It's been quite a while

I miss you, guys. I miss the idea of having you reading me, although I am not quite sure there is someone out there.
Nah, it doesn't really matter. For my soul is never quiet and always eager to give itself away. The thoughts sometimes come not from my head, but straight from the heart. And God knows my heart. I wish I could get to know it a little more.
I have learned from the Bible that we should keep our hearts safe for flows of life run from it. How would I keep safe something I don't see inside? Well, now I do. As I post the inner parts of my feelings are translated into bits, bytes, words that are put together so there is some sense in it.
When I think of writing, I think of living. Writing is having your soul breathe.
So help me God... I want to live intensely!

What about Susan Boyle?

Once I was in a lecture in which the lecturer quoted a term that was quite new. In fact, I never heard the term again, either because I am outdated or just because it hasn't become a hit.
The word is "e-pace". He was talking about the speed imposed to the world in the electronic era.
When Andy Warhol said "in the future" people were going to be famous for 15 minutes, I don't think he ever imagined people would become famous in 15 minutes. Am I wrong? So tell me about Scottish-singer Susan Boyle. One night she was 'nobody'. A few days later more than 20 million hits on her YouTube video - plus the millions who watched her on TV - knew about her dream of turning into a world famous singer. We have to admit the woman's got a wonderful voice. But what if there wasn't e-pace? What if things weren't this fast?
Well, sometimes I wish things didn't move that fast. I have the terrible feeling sometimes that I can't live up to the speed. Sometimes I just don't think I can move any faster.
I hope someday soon people realize that there must be a reason why we're moving towards we're moving at such a high speed. Otherwise, why would we be so eager to get 'there'?

Just an introduction

Welcome to Floor 7 1/2. To those whom are not acquainted with the number it was inspired on "Being John Malkovich", a movie in which people find out a secret passage to John Malkovich's head on the seventh and a half floor of an office building.
So the idea here is that you get to know what I think, how I feel and how I see the world. A small door to my head.
About the picture on the header: this is the view I have from my home office in São Paulo. I chose it so you can have an idea of what I actually see when I write.
Hope you enjoy it!
